Tick bites

Ticks are tiny spider-like creatures that live in woods, areas with long grass, and sometimes in urban parks and gardens. They vary in size, usually between 1mm to 1cm long. They have either 6 or 8 legs.

Ticks do not jump or fly. They attach to the skin of animals or humans that brush past them.

Tick bites are not always painful. You may not notice a tick unless you see it on your skin.

If you find a tick, it is important to remove it safely. Click here to open the link to the NHS page.

If you are concerned, call 111 or speak to your GP.
