This week we are exploring autumn colours, and discussing the seasons and why all the leaves are turning brown and falling off the trees. We will be having fun investigating and counting autumn fruits and going on a lovely autumn walk to collect treasure. We will also be talking about hibernation and finding out why some animals sleep during the cold, dark winter months.
Happily, a big brown bear has arrived at The Barn and he is ready to quietly hibernate in his lair! We will be using a story, 'Bear Snores On', to enact a favourite autumn drama.
Children will be using autumnal fruit to print pictures at the creative area and outside, we will be making magic potions in the mud kitchen and having fun rolling conkers down the large guttering and sorting them out into an array of boxes.
The Discoverers' word of the week is Collect.
