This week, we will continue to investigate the arrival of autumn and look out for signs of change in the environment.
At the creative table, we will be having fun painting pumpkins and at the gross motor table we will be using hammers to hammer golf tees into pumpkins and squash.
During small circle time, children will be investigating autumn fruits using all of their senses in a hands-on exploration involving cutting them open, looking inside, discussing texture and exploring taste. Outside, rangoli patterns can be made in large hoops and there will be conker rolling in the sand pit and different boxes and shaped holes will be available for sorting skills.
We will also be discussing ways we keep ourself safe at The Barn and practising our fire drill procedures with the children.
The Discoverers' word of the week is Crunch.
