Applying to schools
If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, they will be eligible to start school in the school year beginning September 2026.​​

Applications for Year R places for September 2026 open on 1st November 2025 and close on 15th January 2026. Please click here to go to Hampshire County Council's website for information on applications, including key dates, schools within your catchment area and how to apply for places.
Most schools have open evenings or open days during the autumn term, when you can visit and see the school in action. Please look at the school’s website for more information or contact the school to make an appointment.
