We hope that you all enjoyed the Easter break, and warmly welcome our newest Explorers: Saskia, Esme, Glen, Beatrice and Nihan.

During the first week of the summer term, we will be exploring space, identifying planets and thinking about space travel. In the theme area, our astronauts will be exploring the universe in The Barn spaceship and they might decide to land at the Moon Café in the home corner. We will also have fun counting with astronaut rhymes and creating pictures for our space themed walls.

In the garden, the small circle groups will be busy planting peas in the troughs ready to harvest later and eat at snack cafe. We will also be planting sunflowers and over the coming weeks, we will enjoy watching them grow and observing the insects that will be attracted by the colourful petals, scent, nectar, and pollen.

Outdoors, there will be resources for making space rockets, lots of chalk to make a space themed hopscotch and fun in the sand pit and mud kitchen..

The Discoverers' word of the week is planet.
